Monolithe Wooden Mantle Clock European Walnut Resin Seam
A slightly different direction in my work.
With the Monolithe clocks, I wanted to explore a simpler, more solid form — letting the timber and the overall shape do most of the talking.
Each piece is handcrafted from European walnut, with a single resin seam running through the body. Unlike many of my previous pieces, the resin hasn’t been polished to a high gloss. Instead, I’ve left it with a more natural, matte finish to give it a rawer feel — almost like metal coming out of the ground — which contrasts nicely with the warmth of the walnut.
The form is kept clean and minimal. A subtle 5–7 degree angled base gives each clock a slight forward lean, helping it sit comfortably on a shelf or desk without feeling flat or static.
Each clock is individually made and finished by hand using Odie’s Oil, bringing out the natural character of the timber while keeping a soft, tactile finish.
